Somatic therapy for maternal mental health
Feel like you again
Helping you finally come up for a breath of fresh air
during the intense and transformative stages of parenthood.
this is not how you thought things would go
You’re just trying to keep your head above water
Everything has felt different since your family growing
You’re going through the motions,
but inside your body and mind there is so much more going on
Maybe you’re a new parent hitting up against how much you have to sacrifice in parenthood. You wish someone would’ve clued you in a little on the reality. Maybe you’ve had a long journey trying to grow your family. You might be searching for any way to avoid repeating past birth experiences that were hard to process. You wonder if you will ever feel like yourself again.
Perhaps you’ve been postpartum, basically back-to-back babies, for almost a decade. You wonder if you’re cut out for this almost daily, wondering can I do this? Between the mental load, moments of rage, and mom guilt, it’s hard to even think how you’d make time for therapy. Or, maybe you feel like you’re at a loss with your older kid, and they feel like they’re still trying to figure out where they fit in anyways. Just when you thought it was truly impossible to catch your breath.
What would life look like if you felt seen and understood? faster somatic relief
What would change if you started to believe that you are enough? deeper trust
What if you and your loved ones discovered more meaningful connection and sense of belonging? tangible shifts
feel something different in therapy
therapy you actually want to go to

hey, i’m Trina.
let’s start where the body is, instead of the story
I help moms, new parents, and older kids to quiet the storm and grow into the next season in life with confidence. In therapy with me, you’ll find safe space and gentle support to tune into your body as a doorway to your mind. I’ll meet you where you’re at and help you find and process experiences that are stuck in your nervous system—in ways that aren’t too much too fast, for you to finally heal. You won’t have to fit everything into words, and you’ll notice things start shifting in everyday life much faster than with solely traditional talk therapy.
When we start with a sensation instead of a story, we feel something different. we have an experience that sets change into motion
SPECIALIZING IN:
01
pERINATAL (prenatal, postpartum +)
The family-growing years and becoming a parent are be filled with overwhelming and contradictory feelings. Months of preparing, and your body may have written a different story. Birth experiences can be tough to process. No one is supporting mom’s mood beyond a quick 6-week checkup. I believe that if every mother knew about Matrescence, their journey into motherhood would be easier. Specializing in perinatal mental health, grief and loss, and traumatic birth experiences.
02
Becoming a parent changes everything long after the first year or so. Your brain, your body, your identity, your relationships, your priorities. The word for this development phase is Matrescence, and it is arguably lifelong and not linear. It is not a new word; it is just recently getting more recognized. This space is for parents, especially mothers, at any season in their journey of motherhood. Specializing in Advanced Maternal Age and blended families.
03
ADOLESCENCE (11+)
Is it hard for your kiddo to fit everything into words? Do they feel like they’re defenses are up as if they have put on more and more armor? Is it tough to find support that truly understands complexities in your situation? This is safe space for them to be themselves and find motivation to keep figuring out who that is—share this page with them to decide for themselves. Specializing in expressive arts, trauma, and self-harm.
04
brainspotting
Push talk therapy aside and experience how eye positions can access different parts of the brain to set into motion deep, rapid healing. Developed by Dr. David Grand, Ph.D. in 2003, Brainspotting is a somatic (brain-body based), relational therapy that can be woven into your sessions as much or as little as you choose. Sometimes your heart needs to catch up with what your brain already knows. Specialized as one of Southern Utah’s only Certified Brainspotting Practitioner.
